The purpose of this website is to curate literary resources for high school students, with the aim of experiencing literature as a participating creator of meaning in a dynamic transaction between reader and text.
Students may come to appreciate that we create meaning as we interpret works of poetry & prose, and when we discuss our understanding in conversation with others over time.
These dimensions of literature are described in terms of ‘transactional meaning’ and ‘coduction’ (more about these concepts in the ‘about’ section), while the other dimensions listed above inform a philosophy of teaching literature, as well as some principals for curating content for this site.
